PAF - a Text

There are rumors that I should do more sports, according to PAF. But my relationship with my body is nobody's business but mine. I think it’s beautiful, even though I used to reject my stomach a lot. I have often experienced being told from the outside that if I just lost 10 kilos, my madness would be less noticeable. Anyway: I am not a victim of fat, looks, or opinions. I decided to contribute texts for PAF because I like to get upset (a bit like an internet troll), I am critical, and I write about it. Especially when it comes to privileges and abuse of power, which need to be addressed. That was the case at the Intercontinental fair and later with the abuse allegations against A.A. What happened afterward, focusing on individuals and cyberbullying them or dragging them through the village by their hair, is simply mean and cruel. Cancel culture has more than two sides and perspectives. The idea of morality, which carries something absolutist, is simply not sustainable. But unfortunately, this is happening in almost all areas of life and thus also in and through art.

I knew that PAF was an "artistically terrorist action," but I believe it exposes something that doesn't necessarily lead to solidarity and restructuring of the scenes. Terror against the bourgeoisie, in itself, is a great thing, but somehow, it all started to make no sense because malice always backfires. Back then, I wrote something for the group because I couldn't believe how incredibly conformist and submissive we were treated as artists: We took certain people and galleries far too seriously, and it was never really about the art. Maybe you feel it too. A rage accumulates in the stomach area, especially when it becomes clear that we are now being dictated from the outside. What can art be? Where is the line? How is something justified? Who gets to play along? Who or what can you not mess with? You won’t make it in your career if you don't hang out with the right people and consume drugs.

Yes, I have a rejection of coke, and since I’m from Colombia, I find it more than disgusting to do that at an opening. It has absolutely nothing to do with progressivism if people take drugs in groups in the bathroom and then bring them to the "foreigners" in front of the space. What values are these, I thought? The underground, led by sympathetic but very exclusionary people. Maybe I'm wrong, but I have no problem showing my face and, if necessary, pooping in front of their door. I was never cowardly, but the angry mob of art students sure is. So stop with the nonsense and please engage with things in a real political way. Go into politics, but leave the scene alone to regenerate itself. They are just waves after all. Art is always free, no matter what weird things collide with it. I apologize to anyone whose faces I couldn’t prevent from showing up there, like in hostage situations. Anyway: Leave me alone.
